Has Anybody Tried Zarina Cream

Critique of "Invictus" ("Invictus" USA 2009)

Synopsis: Invictus account the true story of how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the captain of South African rugby team, Francois Pienaar, to help unite the country. The newly elected President Mandela is aware that the nation remains divided both racially and economically in the aftermath of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people through the universal language of sport, supports the homeless Mandela South African Rugby team when, with little chance, participating in the 1995 World Championships. Clint
Eastwod remains without a doubt and with extraordinary effect, one of the best storytellers that the U.S. film industry has today. Only by investigating some of his films as director from 2003 to date, we will realize the sheer quality that have had their latest productions. For these years have passed excellent films like "Mystic River," "Million Dollar Baby," "The Conquest of Honor," "Letters From Iwo Jima," "The Substitute" and the downright brilliant "Gran Torino."

In 2009, Eastwood was immersed in an ambitious and very, very interesting priori clear picture of the amazing and dramatic story of how back in 1995, Nelson Mandela used the flags of the sport (more specifically to be your host Rugby World Cup that year) to try to unite a nation mired in a deep racism called apartheid after he suffered for many years that country.

Based on a book by John Carlin and adapted to the big screen by screenwriter Anthony Peckham (Do not Say a Word "with Michael Douglas and" Sherlock Holmes "), Estawood again with this film offer a more than worthy demonstration of the most important thing in any film product is, without doubt, have a good story. Neither more nor less.

History focuses primarily on early government of Nelson Mandela as President of South Africa and his tireless struggle to unite a country with huge problems of all kinds, but above all, enormous problems of racism that even after assuming his position was virtually impossible to eradicate. Mandela saw an opportunity to unite the nation, or at least try, something that had deep roots in the white population of his nation, as it was until then the selected South African Rugby.

Next to organize global specialty in 1995, Mandela decided to deepen every effort for an entire nation listed in the column behind one goal: Winning that competition sport and that it served to pacify a nation mired in the deepest of racial violence through education and the importance of sport in the lives of people. Anthony

Pecham rounded a script ultimately very right about his story and perfectly divided into two sections well separated and contrasting each other.

The first one focusing on policy issues arising from the Mandela government and its many problems and getting the second and fully in sports competition that will serve as a spearhead for the unification of the nation.

The leadership of the great Clint Eastwood was really remarkable. Both in the narrative of his entire first half as the spectacular filming of sports sequences, Eastwood again shows his mastery behind the camera unmistakable. Panoramic views of the stadiums and excellent camera movements in the World Cup matches are some neat technical details that the movie has. That mastery

Eastwood behind the camera has obviously spread within them, and although Damon's performance is very correct but not huge, no doubt we can say the opposite about the great performance by Morgan Freeman. We know to do a character biography is not every day and that nothing is easy. However, Freeman manages (and how!) To impersonate a very effective way to Nelson Mandela in his first years in office.

Ultimately, "Invictus" is a very good drama film about a really interesting story. Unite a country through sport do not think it possible to this level, but I think the kick is given the same can lead to such amazing stories and powerful as those that are recounted here. Highly recommended.

Movie Rating: Very Good.

Review "The Meeting of the Devil" ("Devil" USA 2010) Critical

Synopsis: Five strangers become mysteriously trapped in an elevator. After a few cuts, strange things begin to happen and you will discover that one of them ... not the one who seems to be.
While this holds not just a joy for me after another to a very good filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, "The Meeting of the Devil" has meant to him something like a return to the sources, or at least that's what I was able to perceive after viewing this tape. The film part of the basis of being the first of a series of stories based on Shyamalan's own arguments entitled "The Night Chronicles", which are now taking on the big screen of the hand of new writers and directors Hoollywoodense industry.

Here with the help of Brian Nelson in adapting Shyamalan writer's argument and the work behind the scenes of John Erick Dowdle, literally gives us a tape but is far from becoming a classic novel and instantaneous world cinema, itself be pleasantly surprised by a film highly entertaining and extremely well run in terms of suspense in general (much of the achievement goes to the brief duration of the film, which time and fourth round without credit end). The film begins

reported as five strangers are mysteriously trapped in an elevator. Everything will be fairly well at first, since those present hope that the problem is resolved in early or in some way or other to be rescued. But the issue will go from bad to worse when strange things begin to happen and literally all occupants of the lift begin to suspect each other.

As we said before, the screenwriter adapting the story of M. Night Shyamalan fell on the shoulders of the great playwright Brian Nelson, owner of a huge gem titled "Hard Candy "(where we discovered a huge actress like Ellen Page) and also a good book by the horror flick" 30 Days of Night. " Here the script is mostly a couple of points very, very remarkable.

First and foremost, we are witnessing a tiny tape length (I think that since "Phone Booth" with Colin Farrell have not seen a film so short) but at the end of the day (and think about it) ends up being something very convenient for the film and not allowing the viewer to get bored in no time so well told that is the same story and they literally do not have too many nuances to stretch too much of the film of the same (Which would have been an irreparable mistake.)

Brian Nelson noted this and used the first 15 minutes of film to present in a very proper to the respective characters to be trapped inside the elevator and to any other outsider, the most important of which star in the police by investigating everything that happens, effective way interpreted by Chris Messina.

Then the story will focus squarely on the film's main problem where different situations begin to happen, from injuries of people who are trapped at this point absolutely nothing to understand, to the chagrin which are continuously monitors everything from workplace safety. Since then the film will grow in intensity with each scene to be displayed and will culminate with a good twist Shyamalan style, revealed at the right time and very well built.

John Erick Dowdle was asked to get behind the camera to direct this exciting tale of horror and suspense. Shyamalan noticed him for his work in "Quarantine" (the unnecessary but after all good remake of the English film "REC") and decided to give the opportunity to direct his first film "Night Chronicles."
Dowdle
not disappoint at all with his work, and that in addition to having started with an interesting story at hand, knew good moves to give the film cameras, as well as incredible scenes of suspense (the start of the film is really huge) and a narrative rhythm that keeps the film from start until more than a correct conclusion. Good for Dowdle, who becomes (for me) in an interesting filmmaker to follow from now on, since both "Quarantine" as in "The Meeting of the Devil" has shown enough to be a director who knows how to keep pace narrative of a film without much trouble.

Ultimately, "The Meeting of the Devil "is an entertaining supernatural thriller. Obviously the mind of M. Night Shyamalan does not always turn out good stories, but surely this itself is one of them. Very well told, well built and extremely well filmed.

Movie Rating: Very Good.

"Agent Salt" ("Salt" USA 2010)

Synopsis: As the CIA officer, Evelyn Salt took an oath to duty and honor to his country. Their loyalty is tested when a deserter accused of being a Russian spy. Salt is given to the escape and is forced to use all his skills and years experience as a spy disguised to prevent the capture. Salt's efforts to prove his innocence only serve to further raise suspicions about their motives. While continuing the hunt to uncover the truth behind his identity, a question remains latent Who is Salt?
One could say without doubt that Angelina Jolie has been one of Hollywood actresses that has dabbled in the genre of action films in recent years. Examples of this abound, but to give only a few, could quote movies like "Tomb Raider", "60 Seconds", "Mr. And Mrs. Smith "and to my excellent "Wanted", where he shared cast opposite James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, among others.

"Agent Salt" is, in short, a rare film to classify. Is obviously an action movie that sounds like the great trilogy of Jason Bourne films, but with far fewer claims taken too seriously in itself. There is precisely where lies the greatest difference between the two films, as in action makes me very difficult to differentiate between the two tapes.

In any case, without further or a more odious comparisons paragraph should say "Salt", with limited plot and everything ends up being a brilliant action entertainment for any audience seeking non-stop action film for an hour and forty minutes of footage filmed superbly.

The script here was handled by the great director Kurt Wimmer, owner of excellent film scripts such as "Equilibrium", "The Recruit", "Street Kings" and "Law Abiding Citizen." Wimmer gave him "Salt" strong script, where it seeks to develop in the most tedious possible most of the characters during the first 20 minutes of footage.

I say during the first twenty minutes of the tape, because then the script turns in a very evident to a continuous action until the end of your footage, more precisely since the character of "Salt" to escape their captors decide to test a innocence increasingly punctuated by multiple suspects. Perhaps in that stretch, the script resigned a little argument with the seriousness which had begun, but it is also fair to say that the film earns significantly in intensity as the product of action, since the tape is not from that time to give the viewer a barrage of gunfire and car chases filmed superbly.

"Agent Salt" was behind the camera to a solvent director. Irregular in his career (it's fair to say) but at the end of the solvent. "Danger," "Patriot Games" and "The Bone Collector" (Great movie), were some of the interesting titles that Phillip Noyce what he achieved in his long film career. Four years after his last feature film "Catch a Fire" (tape drama with Tim Robbins), Noyce offered to "Agent Salt" a display of fast-paced action for almost 80% of the film.

shootings everywhere, both on foot chases auto, excellent camera movements and a highly accurate fitting for this type of production. Perhaps, in giving the film much action he has played against in terms of the narrative, as the final stretch of the tape it shows the haste with little evidence of the plot, with some situations and scenes develop very quickly.

It is also fair to say that ultimately the direction of Noyce has been very successful from beginning to end, providing a rush of action scenes filmed extremely well (I would have liked to see a little blood) that undoubtedly cause the delight of lovers of this type of film.

As the cast of the film do not really have much to criticize, but not too much to applaud. The script has not given space to many characters in the film to develop fully and in this situation come the two main protagonists of the film.

know that many viewers and critics literally hate the work in front of cameras that usually offers Angelina Jolie in their respective roles. In particular never seemed to be a great actress, but neither seems to me a disaster as many say. I think his performance in "The Substitute" ("Changeling" by Clint Eastwood) has been spectacularly good, so I feel that Angelina is an interesting actress in many ways and one of the few that actually encourages this type of leading roles such as "Salt Agent."

to go in final and concluding, "Agent Salt" is a great action movie. Although the film contains some mismatches narrative, it is also true that as entertaining to see tapes and well filmed as this is not an everyday thing in the film world today. This, in itself, is a definite reason to celebrate.

Critique of "Paranormal Activity 2" ("Paranormal Activity 2" USA 2010)

Synopsis: After experimenting, they believe, a series of intrusions to your home, a family decides to put up security cameras to identify the thief, but will find a series of sinister events taking place during the night at his home.
After the year 2007, the Israeli director Oren Peli revolutionized the North American box office with his downright good production "Paranormal Activity", many believed (Now I realize how wrong they were, not from the point of view, but from the narrative point of view) we were in the presence of a new franchise in the supernatural horror film. "Paranormal Activity" was a film that drank filmic style too imposed at the time the (for me) great film called "The Blair Witch Project", taking for himself the aesthetic narrative derived from the known fake documentary.

However, Oren Peli tape had, in my view, a very fluid narration to keep the audience aware of a history screen showing only the drama of the main characters during the 90 minutes of footage that this film had.

Thus, little by little, the story was providing data that we did move the film scene by scene without too many problems to reach a correct outcome, with which one may or may not agree, but that really does not detract in any point of view the overall result of "Paranormal Activity".

was really evident, moreover, that this final section (which grasped the great Steven Spielberg) had strictly to do with being able to continue with what today remains a spectacular franchise monetary level, but unfortunately (and fortunately I weigh, and I expected something else) sinks grandly in the most unfortunate aspect of the narrative inconsistencies I had a chance to see recently in the film industry.

The story of "Paranormal Activity 2" we chronologically placed some time before the events of the original tape. At first, we are introduced to the family of the sister of the character of the original film (starring in the first film by Katie Featherston) who are enjoying the arrival of their first child. Everything will be fine at first, but slowly things will complicate, with events difficult to explain rationally and they apparently have Katie's sister as an end.

is not too difficult to explain what the main problem that has the script for "Paranormal Activity 2." In fact, it is very easy to decipher and very palpable for any viewer who enjoy This regular tape. His story is extremely weak during the first hour of footage. Yes, that simple. There's absolutely nothing.

Everything good in this regard had the original tape, which every five minutes we gave some interesting element to be putting the viewer into the story told, has almost completely lost in this poor sequel. I say almost entirely, because the script has some pros that I will elaborate below.

is quite laudable, the fact that the film works perfectly as a prequel and a sequel early on its final stretch, as the story told here is very well built in that sense, so this second part engages perfectly with the story told in the original tape.

addition, the latest installment of "Paranormal Activity 2" is fairly good, with lots of tension and scenes that show a very good suspense, but ultimately make their appearance in a way too late, almost when the viewer cares little about the fate that may hold for each of the main characters of the film.

In fact, to be honest, when the tape starts to become really interesting things start to happen so quickly and abruptly, the film ends in a blink of an eye frankly unreliable. It is not a technical problem, since the tape in this regard is completely flawless, with a couple of scenes that by themselves pay the viewing of the film almost exclusively.

is, in short, a purely narrative problem, and that's where Tod Williams's film fails in almost all the first part, which obviously affects (a lot) in the final outcome of the film.

Ultimately, "Paranormal Activity 2" is a loose continuation of a good film that in no view can be exploited too much by stretching a franchise that does not provide for much more. There is no narrative thread to grip, no surprise that tie the viewer in his armchair. And all was seen, and all were counted. I doubt the producers realize this (the profit is all that matters), but at least I keep the memory of the most original film that is right for this franchise.

Movie Rating: Average.

Review of "The Origin "(" Inception "USA - England 2010)

Synopsis: Dom Cobb is a skilled thief, the best of all, specializing in the dangerous art of extraction: the theft of valuable secrets from the depths of the subconscious during sleep state when the mind is more vulnerable. This exceptional ability of Cobb has made him a coveted player in the treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but at the same time, has become an international fugitive and made him sacrifice all that mattered. Now Cobb is offered a chance to redeem. With one last job could regain its former life, but only if it achieves the impossible. Instead of carrying out the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to reverse the operation: the task is not to steal an idea, but to insert one. If successful, it could be the perfect crime. However, careful planning and expertise can not prepare the team for Cobb to the dangers of mind facing.

At this point, I think anyone would tremble to write pulse in a humble lines about the narrative that has tremendous capacity Mr. Christopher Nolan. His filmography is, in fact, a tremendous luxury from his first film to tape today comment on the blog. Years ago, it has been awful films like "Memento," "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight," "The Prestige" and even the seemingly most common tape of his films (but that does not cease to be a very good film) entitled "White Nights."

His most recent film "The Source" is, in short, a cinematic experience downright pleasant in its nearly two hours and a half, in a film that has almost everything. Good story, great action scenes, good performances (The DiCaprio is getting better) and a script (the direct heir of the trilogy of "Matrix") perfectly constructed, make "The Source", is one of the best movies I've seen in recent years by far.

As usual in his films, Nolan was in charge of rebuscadísimo and extremely witty script for "The Origin." A script that builds your spine in fact implement a idea in the mind of a character in the film in his dreams, but that in turn opens many subplots hard to follow at some point to the viewer, but it is also fair to say that none of this gets in the history of film and its central original idea.

Nolan narrates the film with amazing ease, making the film advance not only without any problems, but a incredibly rapid pace for the viewer, if one considers that the excessive length of the film does not feel all at any time of the film. In short, "The Source" has narrated a script flawlessly, very interesting and incredibly well expressed in his strong and unique film footage.

The technical section of the film is tremendously effective in all his films. First-line special effects, camera work extremely well maintained and a dramatic use of slow motion action (as well is evident in a great scene that share a duet as the same luxury with the beautiful DiCaprio Ellen Page), are just some of the many accomplishments of this film.

"The Source" is a film that desperately needed to be a visual feast from beginning to end, and really his picture fell short of the circumstances. Wally Pfister, habitual in that category director Christopher Nolan, the film offers an interesting range of resources incredibly well recorded in his final cut, like the great Hans Zimmer, who delights us again with a soundtrack that comes with extreme stress almost all levels of this perfect film.

What I can say at this stage of Leonardo DiCaprio as an actor? For only that each day the boy surprised me a little more. Is no longer that inexperienced actor did not convince me at all in films like "Titanic" or "The Beach", just the opposite. It has become one of the actors of the moment, with gestures own a great leader and "The Source" does nothing more than confirm the excellent moment in front of cameras.

Accompanied by a very good way by the entire cast, but above all for a very natural actress and so is Ellen Page, "The Origin" will eventually become a product of incredible technical quality film and storyline.

Beyond being inherited or "Matrix" (I believe that many things do, and many other things), the new film by Christopher Nolan is an amazing experience from start to finish, both in its visual style as in his narrative style. A demonstration of the mastery to which We have used this excellent director.

Movie Rating: Excellent.

How Many Skelaxin To Get High

Review of" Dangerous Attraction "(" The Town "USA 2010)

Synopsis: Doug Macray is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of bank robbers who take pride in stealing what they want and out without being cached. Without any real attachment, Doug never have to fear of losing anyone close to him. But all that changed in the last work of the group, when briefly took a hostage - a bank manager Claire Keesey. Let her go without danger, but after she meets a modest man Doug called charming ... not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to bring the two into a dangerous and deadly path.

I must admit. Yes, really I do. Never, absolutely never felt too tied to what Ben Affleck might offer the film industry. While it is true that my retinas passed several other tapes that had the good fun of Ben as an actor, in fact, things did not go beyond the latter. Above, Affleck's acting skills were never his strong, but at least recognize that there has always been an actor who has played fairly with its roles.

All this changed (and boy, changed), when Ben started his career behind the camera with an impressive total and quite dramatic thriller played in its theme, entitled "Gone Baby Gone" ("Gone Baby Gone" 2007). That film was for me, not a surprise, but confirmation that Ben really was more than qualified to sit behind a film camera and literally do an outstanding job.

For this reason, really I'm not surprised at all that his second film behind the scenes is one of the best police recently in American cinema. Yes, because this is what is "Dangerous Attraction" ("The Town"). An excellent police, and one of the best proposals I've seen by far so far this year.

The script ran here on behalf of the Ben Affleck, who with the help of Peter Craig, gave a script that clearly is very, very well told. Excellent character development, a proper narrative rhythm that makes the viewer permeates both the general history of the film as conflicts internal characters are some of the ingredients that make this script something very, very recommended. The crosses and similarities to films such as "Limit Point (" Point Break ") and" Fire Fire "(" Heat ") are almost inevitable, but it is also fair to say that the latter does not matter because the story is told this is really effective in more than two hours.

Not to be outdone (and not praise him too much), Ben offers an exquisite work behind the scenes. Extraordinary movements, plans spectacular, breathtaking shootouts with excellent coverage and tremendous persecution cameras automobile, will delight no doubt of film fans of Michael Mann and Paul Greengrass (to name just a few examples.) If we add to this that the good old Ben tells the story more than correct and seasoned development of the film with action scenes when they are practically right and necessary, really this is a perfect work behind the scenes Affleck .

Perhaps the weak point Ben has always been his acting ability. In fact, it has never been an actor who could perform in different roles, or had at first sight too palpable ductility.

Does it apply then, the latter to his starring role in "The Town"? For the truth is no. In keeping with his performance behind the scenes, Affleck was able to provide a very good performance in the film, accompanied by a phenomenon of acting as Jeremy Renner and sustained a very good way for a more interesting Rebecca Hall.

"The Town" is, in short, a police thriller of undoubted quality film. A film product made with absolute seriousness, and with an undeniable quality (both technical and narrative) that will delight film lovers in general police. Hopefully (and I mean really) Ben Affleck follow this path. After two awesome movie like "Gone Baby Gone" and "The Town", many eyes will be following what their next project. Because as the saying goes, no two without three.

Movie Rating: Excellent. Read

How To Make An Air-hole Mask

" Carancho "(" Carancho "Argentina - Chile - France - South Korea 2010)

Synopsis: In Argentina die each year more than 8,000 people in traffic accidents. Behind each of these tragedies is a real industry-based compensation insurance and the weakness of the law. Sosa is a lawyer who runs the emergency rooms of hospitals public health and police stations for potential customers. Luján is a young doctor fresh from the provinces. The love story begins the night Sosa Luján and known on the street. She tries to save the life of a man, he tries to be your customer.

that Argentine cinema has improved greatly in recent years, is not something that I travel to discover in these humble lines. Nor bend discover anything quite proud of the recent Oscar won by that huge awesome movie entitled "The Secret in Your Eyes." I just think (and then tell me in comments) that really should be proud when our film out products and undeniable quality of genuine film.

what falls within the last paragraph I have described, could be no doubt this great movie called "Carancho", which shows a sad and harsh reality of Argentina with a harshness rarely seen in our cinema.

The movie begins recounting the terrible statistics that our country faces a year in unfortunate accidents. It also tells us, in this brief but powerful introduction, the whole network of corruption surrounding such accidents, from bribery in the judicial system to the dismal state and attention to public hospitals in our country. In one of the many accidents that occur daily in our country is finally know where the protagonists of this highly recommended film.

one hand, we Sosa (a disgraced lawyer who profits from such compensation by traffic accidents) and on the other we have to Lujan (a young girl, who arrives at the scene as the first medical .) Together they begin a loving relationship so stormy as really dangerous.

Among the many benefits and successes that this film has, we should note first the excellent script that the movie has. Narrated in an extremely raw, revealing an extensive network of corruption and above all, giving great emphasis to the narrative of the tremendous decline suffered by guards unpresentable Argentine public hospitals, I think the script for "Carancho" has been a success in most of the story of the film.

I say, almost everything, because honestly there is something after having seen the film twice, did not convince me. I'm talking purely and simply of his abrupt and simplistic (as well as predictable) final. Gives the impression (and this is a purely personal feeling) that the resolution of the film should have been different and not what was finally completed showing in the final cut of the film. Of course the latter is just a personal observation, which in no way tarnish the overall result of a product film worthy of my highest praise.

There is nothing to criticize, for example, to the magnificent direction Pablo Trapero had in this wonderful film. Using much the sequence shot, the camera always moving in the right way, showing very closely extremely dramatic moments when the film need to be and excellently filmed two or three sequences of accidents that have nothing to envy to the films of other nationalities. The film is technically flawless, and the direction of Trapero was undoubtedly to rise to the occasion. Paragraph

deserve the actions of the two main characters of the film. Both Ricardo Darin (at this point become the actor par excellence of our film) and Martina Gusman have given excellent performances that keep the viewer guessing, and that inevitably makes one fully permeates their stories and their different problems. Without going too much, I would say that Ricardo Darin has been so restrained in this film as indeed it has been in recent years. Correct in most of the story, Darin is, was and will remain one of the greatest actors of our film industry.

However, I wanted to dedicate a few lines a little more extensive to the tremendous (yes, terrific!) Performance of Martina Gusman. To say that his performance was natural enough for the viewer to fully permeates his character I think is a compliment at this point is somewhat insufficient. Gusman

really gave his character a drama and a rawness rarely seen, so we have a tremendously effective actress who has given the story quite what the story required. A brilliant performance for an actress of undoubted cinematic qualities.

Ultimately, "Carancho" is a dramatic thriller of unquestionable quality and narrative technique. A tape naked decadent Argentine health system that provides, above all things, a different perspective on this very important and little explored in the cinema. Really a highly recommended film.

Movie Rating: Very Good.

Get Rid Of Ulcer On Gums

Review of" Collateral Place and Wrong Time "(" Collateral "USA 2004)

Synopsis: Max brings twelve years of taxi driver in a big city and Vincent is a hired murderer. A number of circumstances make Vincent hijack Max's taxicab, which makes Max in "Collateral," in other words, just because you're disposable in the wrong place at the wrong time. Pursued by the LAPD and the FBI, Max and Vincent eventually depend on each other to survive. I'm not exactly
, who find in these lines the undeniable quality of a filmmaker with all the letters as it is Michael Mann. I think that absolutely no one (and certainly no fan of the detective genre) can erase their retinas that excellent shooting that occurred this tremendous averaging awesome movie entitled "Fire Fire" ("Heat" 1995). Beyond

be an excellent police narrated from start to finish, and produced spectacular acting duel by the eternal Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, the scene of action was one of the most spectacular films I've ever seen for a long time in contemporary cinema. With a clear distinctive touch in regard also to the narrative aspect of his films, Michael Mann has provided paths film gems over his prolific career.

Back in 2004, and after having dispensed with a tremendous awesome movie titled "The Informer" ("The Insider" 1999), Mann returned to immerse yourself in the detective genre with "Collateral", a film highly entertaining, excellently filmed and foremost, possessing a very striking and effective narrative of the film's leading duo.

The story places us in a beautiful evening in Los Angeles, where a young taxi driver named Max (Jamie Foxx) is preparing to have another routine and perhaps boring night shift. All is calm and nothing is unusual in the life of Max. But things change when a hired murderer (played magnificently by Tom Cruise) kidnaps his taxi and forced, literally, to lead to certain defined locations where Vincent must make disturbing criminal work.

"Collateral" is ultimately excellent police. Here is a simple script in general, but totally effective from beginning to end. Effective in its overall approach, effective in the police story is told, and above all, effective in structuring the relationship that is slowly brewing between the main protagonists of the film. And that is where I think is one of the greatest successes of this great police, the relationship of the two main characters.

is quite striking that some dialogue between Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx are ultimately as important to the overall narrative of the film as stunt tracks excellently filmed. A success story of the script, and above all, a great match for Michael Mann in the importance given to details that other filmmakers might have overlooked.

Very little can be reproached for Michael Mann as the film itself. It is true that Mann was terribly in love digital format, but it is also true that in "Collateral" is where the best use has given the technology (just to cite one example, I think in the very good "Public Enemies," Mann abused too much of that resource), shooting the whole film at night with a clarity seldom seen and attaching to it a couple of scenes really to remember. Examples of this, the dramatic shootout in a bowling night or stressful scene that takes place in a jazz club.

Another strength of the film are undoubtedly their actions. While Jamie Foxx up very effectively the role of a taxi driver who must deal frankly with a night terror, he takes all the laurels here is the increasingly strong Tom Cruise. Cruise is an actor who was never to my liking at the beginning, but after good performances ("The Last Samurai" was one of them) has done fully convince. Here literally brilliantly composed of a ruthless and cynical murderer for hire, who also strikes up a relationship very well told with the character of Jamie Foxx.

Without much else to say, I just wanted to remember this fine police back in 2004 Michael Mann gave us all the viewers who love this genre. A genre that sometimes is guilty of some repetition, but when watching movies is one of the greatest satisfactions has given me.

Movie Rating: Excellent. Read
