How To Get Vaccination Records For Ontario

Critique of "The Shutter Island "(" Shutter Island "USA - 2010)

Synopsis: Set in 1954, Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Teddy Daniels, who is investigating the disappearance of a murderer who has escaped from the mental institution in which he was, and apparently hiding in the remote Shutter Island.
It had been a long time since the great Martin Scorsese did not get fully into the genre of psychological thriller. If memory serves me correctly, "Cape Fear" ("Cape Fear") was his last foray into the thriller field, providing a great film from start to finish, with brilliant direction and a huge performances (Robert De Lo Niro is to watch over and over again without tiring) for which it was until today one of the movies that I enjoyed throughout my life as a spectator.

But back to the review of the film before us today, "Shutter Island" is based on the Dennis Lehane novel of the great, who has provided great novels have been adapted to film with great success, among which we remember "Rio Mystic "(" Mystic River ", winner of two Oscars) and" Gone Baby Gone "(" Gone Baby Gone, "a film incredibly ignored at the Oscars, with a huge performance by Casey Affleck). Does this mean, moreover, that "Shutter Island" is at the height of his earlier novels? Well, the truth and to be honest, I would say no, but I have to be fair and say that the story is really entertaining and is extremely well designed and structured.

The movie begins recounting the arrival of "Shutter Island" federal agent Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) for research on the unusual disappearance of one of the patients most dangerous place for what will be assisted by his partner Chuck (played by Mark Ruffalo), who together try to remedy the situation, but little by little will be encountering several problems of all kinds, so will doubt, even up to his own sanity.

As I said in the previous paragraph, that "Shutter Island" is based on a novel by the great Denis Lehane, provoked in me (and I think any viewer of the film) a much greater expectation normal, given his impeccable background in previous films. I think ultimately, the libretto of "Shutter Island" has as many pros as it is also against. Before anything else worth mentioning, that this is a very well structured script and interesting. The story is very tolerable, the character development is really perfect (especially Leonardo DiCaprio) and various revelations that occur in his last fifty minutes (the film is stretched over two hours and twenty minutes) were very well diagrams and are perfectly believable in every way.

But right there is where the only problem that I see it gives the script. Final resolution. Not because this is similar to that of other tapes, but because it is a bit predictable. The spectator who proposes split hairs averaging the footage without much effort you can guess where he comes the thing (not the final resolution itself, but on solving the structure of the film), for which the libretto, for which I return repeating that provides a well told story and interesting, you lose a little ingenuity on the final leg of the tape.

What I can say the work of Martin Scorsese behind the camera? Only words of praise. Great on the camera movements (no frantic movements, but rather learn to locate it in the best places and always taking long shots and interesting), spectacular the recreation of the period and above all very well taking all the time in the world to develop the main character in the film.

In that sense, Leonardo DiCaprio's performance is still at the height of what is giving us this fine actor in recent times. "Blood Diamond" and "The Departed" was a sign of progress impeccable acting, and "Shutter Island" is just a confirmation that we are facing a strong actor that Scorsese has taken as its own.

To go over, "Shutter Island" is a movie really recommended. A psychological thriller very correct in virtually all facets of film, which you may be able to object to a certain predictability in the plot, but why can not detract from a very well done, interesting and very tidy throughout their development.

Movie Rating: Good.
